On the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Christ Special School hosted the Bangalore Special School Championship – CHRIS FEST 2025–26 on 28 November 2025. The annual fest was a vibrant, inspiring celebration of inclusion, bringing together 360 children with disabilities, 150 staff members including special educators, psychologists, social workers, and support personnel, and 21 Special schools from across Bengaluru. The event began with an inaugural function and the Chief guest for the same was Rev. Dr. Fr. Viju P. D. CMI (Pro-Vice Chancellor and Professor in the Department of Psychology at Christ University) the Guest of honour was Rev. Fr. Nilson Davis CMI (Co-ordinator of Christ Group of Schools, Principal Of Christ School ICSE) and the other guests were Rev. Fr. Anto Kanjirathingal (CMI) Parish Priest at St.Thomas Forane Church. During the inaugural function, Rev. Dr. Fr. Viju P. Dprovost. CMI (Pro-Vice Chancellor and Professor in the Department of Psychology at Christ University) along with our Director, Rev. Fr. Nijo Jose CMI, launched Weave4Work, a home-based vocational skill development programme designed to empower young individuals with ID.
A march past was conducted with the participation of all the schools involved in the event. It was a proud and memorable moment to witness the collective participation of the schools. Following the sports and cultural events, a valedictory function was organized to recognize and appreciate the winners.
The distinguished chief guests for the event were Shri Das Suryavanshi, State Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Government of Karnataka; Mr. Madan Kumar, Managing Director, Accenture Advanced Technology Centres of India; Ms. Chitra Shenoy, renowned South Indian actress and producer; and Rev. Fr. Bijo CMI, Director, Department of Physical Education, CHRIST University. The Overall Championship was won by Endeavor Extended Learning Services for the second consecutive time.
